Amy Wischum
Math
M. Amy Wischum joined the CHAD family in 2006 as a member of the Math department, having taught Math and Science for the last 17 years in other charter schools, parochial schools and suburban school districts. She is a certified teacher with experience at every grade level from 5th through 12th, as well as with students at risk. She is an advocate of cooperative learning and incorporates those skills in her classroom. She spent the 2006-07 school year teaching Algebra I and enjoyed the experience and her students. This year, Amy is returning to Algebra, but is also pleased to help CHAD create a pre-Algebra program that she hopes will alleviate some math anxiety in her students and help them prepare for more challenging math.
In addition to her career in teaching, her true love, Amy operates a small business with her partners. If you can’t find her at CHAD or her business, look to the Jersey shore, where she spends as much time as she can. After a visit to Greece in the summer of 2006, she is looking forward to a return trip in March of 2008.
