Technology

Mr. Eischen was born in Jersey City, New Jersey where he attended public school through High School. In high school he participated in the chess club and debating society and played football. He represented his school on the TV show, It's Academic, the high school version of College Bowl. He entered the Air Force Reserve after high school in which he served ten years. Mr. Eischen is a Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force NCO Academy in San Bernardino, California.

After his reserve active duty, he worked for National Water Main Cleaning company of Belleville, NJ, where he was Superintendent of field operations. He attended Rutgers University, Newark College of Arts and Sciences, both full time and part-time for several years, receiving a BA in Art History, with a minor in Physics. After graduation, he began working at the Corporate Technology Center of Union Camp Corporation (now International Paper) in Princeton, NJ. He has a daughter who recently graduated from Princeton University and is pursuing a PhD in Math at the University of Michigan. While with Union Camp he attended Rider College in New Jersey, Drexel University and The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has a Masters Degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Penn.

In 1999 Mr. Eischen took advantage of a corporate merger to accept a severance package that permitted him to enter teaching. He had been involved in community and church education programs and corporate training programs for many years. This is Mr. Eischen's sixth year at CHAD. He has taught classes in General Science, Physics, Math, and Chemistry. He has also been active in upgrading the school's computer network. Mr. Eischen has attended the Pennsylvania Governor's Institute for Physical Science Educators and is a local representative for the Building A Presence for Science program.

This year Mr. Eischen left the classroom and is concentrating on developing CHAD's technology to support teachers in providing a rich learning environment for all members of the CHAD community. He recently moved to Northeast Philadelphia from New Jersey.
