Jennifer Baker
Chair, Design Department
Jennifer Baker holds a BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and an MAT from The University of
the Arts. Her professional experience includes over fifteen years of freelance fashion experience in film
and television along with project management expertise in interactive exhibition space design. Her
interest in design education sprung from her experience as the founder and president of a toy company
built upon a utility patent she received for a method of teaching.
Jennifer believes that design education is grounded by the act of problem solving, supported by the
elements of art, and illuminated by the principles of design. Jenny and her colleagues at CHAD work
across all disciplines to make the design process the vehicle that structures and transforms student
inquiries into creative solutions.
Outside of her work, Jennifer enjoys talking about CHAD and her visions for urban educational reform.
Jennifer has led professional seminars and workshops specific to business, design, and education. Some
of Jennifer's speaking engagements include The Yale School of Management, The Greater Philadelphia
Chamber of Commerce, The Franklin Institute, ASCA national conference, and The Multi-Cultural
Resource Center.
