History

Ms. Sheldon-Matje was born and raised in South Philadelphia, where she continues to reside with her family. She received a B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Teachers College in New York. Ms. Sheldon-Matje is a big proponent of city life and has lived in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Edinburgh, Scotland when not settled in Philadelphia.

Entering her sixth year of teaching American History at CHAD, Ms. Sheldon-Matje is happy to have the opportunity to help her students see how history can be meaningful and relevant to their lives.
