Robert Melville
Design
Rob is an Industrial Designer from London, UK who co-founded a design-led company in 1995 to manufacture and market his own line of furniture. He carried out projects internationally while winning several awards for good design. His furniture has been featured in Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class Lounge in Logan Airport in Boston and in the London fashion house of British Designer Bruce Oldfield (who designed for Princess Diana).
His work has been exhibited in the Design Museum, UK, one of Europe’s leading museums devoted exclusively to showcasing the best of International Design. Rob’s work has been featured in magazines including the Architectural Review and Abitare.
In 1994 Rob received his BA (Honors) in Furniture and Related Product Design from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in London.
Between 2004-2006, he taught design at Westminster-Kingsway College, London before moving to the United States in 2007. In 2008 he was a visiting critic and guest lecturer in the Industrial Design department at UArts.
