Students Attend NOMA Conference in Washington, DC
CHAD students, members of our new American Institute of Architects Student chapter, participated in the annual conference of the National Organization of Minority Architects in Washington, DC on October 3rd. Ryan Brown, Ambar Ceballos, Sa'afir Henry, and Articia Brown participated in the "Shadow an Architect" program where they were matched with a mentor for the day. Together they networked with architecture students from Cornell, recent college graduates, and distinguished minority architects from all over the country. Our students also had a special meeting with AIA president, Marshall Purnell, a CHADvocate who has supported CHAD since he first visited almost two years ago. One student said, "This trip was life changing! I never expected to be in a room full of architects from all over the world!"
Many THANKS to PhilaNOMA and corporate partner, Wallace, Roberts & Todd, for helping to fund this trip for CHAD students. Photo: Sa'afir, Ambar, Articia, Ryan, and CHAD Design Department Chair, Jennifer Baker.
