CHAD needs your support

As CHAD is an independent, tuition-free, public high school, it received an allotment from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of about $7,248 per pupil. But it costs far more per student per year to provide the extraordinary, small, safe, design-based college-preparatory education that CHAD offers to the creative urban youth of Philadelphia. As the central part of the school's comprehensive development plan, CHAD's Annual Appeal bridges the gap between what we receive in public funds and what it costs to deliver this high quality, tuition-free education.

Individuals or organizations seeking to make gifts to CHAD are encouraged to use one or more of the following mechanisms. CHAD offers room and studio naming opportunities for corporations, professional societies and individuals.

Gifts of Cash

This is the easiest and quickest way to give. For those who itemize, you can deduct your contribution for tax purposes in the year of the gift. Donate by mail by sending a check payable to: "The Charter High School for Architecture + Design (CHAD)", sending it to the address above. Gifts of cash of $5,000 or more can be wired to CHAD's bank account, and we accept major credit cards.

Gifts of Stock & Other Securities

There are significant tax incentives for those who are considering a gift of appreciated assets such as stocks and other securities.

Donating Real Estate & Other Assets

Please contact us for information regarding a gift of real estate, personal property, automobiles or other assets.

Bequests: Remember CHAD in Your Will

Regardless of other estate plans you have made, a bequest to CHAD offers you a practical way to minimize estate taxes and is a thoughtful way to make a gift to Philadelphia schoolchildren. An outright bequest in a will can be made with cash, securities or other property.

Please Note: Making gifts is subject to state and federal regulations, therefore, we recommend that you always seek the advice of counsel.
