Head of School

Mr. Kountz began his schoolwork in 1969 when he taught English Composition. He received his MA and PhD from the University of Chicago. Mr. Kountz has taught every year since 1969, form 6th grade to PhD students and he has served in several Administrative positions at Roosevelt University in Chicago the University of Chicago and the University of Rochester. In Addition, he headed two k-12 schools, one in Brooklyn and one in Pittsburgh. In his other lives, Mr. Kountz is a musician and writer, retreat director, and consultant. Mr. Kountz and his wife Nanci have three children, Fredrick (23), Henry (20), and Isabelle (17). They all live in Park Slope Brooklyn.
