Heather Durke

Design

Heather Fenton is a graduate of Tyler School of Art/Temple University where she received her Master’s degree and K-12 certification in Art Education. Prior to that, she lived and worked in Chicago, where she received her Bachelor’s in Fine Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her undergraduate work allowed her to obtain several exhibition opportunities, including an exhibition with the Contemporary Art Museum for SOFA (Sculpture Object Functional Art) at Chicago’s Navy Pier. In Chicago, she held a ceramics studio at Lill Street Gallery, where she discovered her love of teaching. She managed a mosaic tile studio in Chicago, worked as a mural artist in Philadelphia, and worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art building crates and installing artwork for special exhibitions.

Ms. Fenton has worked as an artist-in-residence for Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and The Print Center (the latter of which she was Outreach Education Coordinator). She has also taught printmaking to college freshmen at Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia. She continues her pursuits in art by maintaining a studio in East Falls where she creates mixed media work. Ms. Fenton completed a mosaic mural with Jeff Durkee through The Mural Arts Program in Fishtown over the summer in a collaboration with over 60 Philadelphia student artists and teachers.
