Melissa Donner

English

Melissa Donner is an 11th grade English teacher for the 2009-2010 school year and it is her second year teaching at CHAD . Her degrees include a Bachelor’s from Columbia University in psychology with a minor in religion and a Master’s in English Education from Northern Arizona University. A Philadelphia native, she has also lived in New York, Oregon, and Northern Arizona. Her teaching experiences include teaching in an elementary school on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona, teaching high school students in the outdoors, and teaching Freshman Composition at a college level, as well as teaching our kids at CHAD.

A passionate teacher, Melissa is also a passionate reader and writer. When she’s not reading student work and writing lesson plans, she is voraciously reading books and the news and she is writing short stories and prose poems. She is active in environmental and political issues and sees teaching as the perfect way to make the world a better place.
