Special Education
Ms. Mehl is the Learning Support teacher for the Lower House. Ms. Mehl has been an educator since 1987. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education from the University of Michigan she joined the Education Department of the Philadelphia Zoo and then became Director of Education for the Pennsylvania SPCA.
She entered Special Education when she created a program in Animal Assisted Therapy for the Devereux – Beneto Center and subsequently earned her Master’s degree in Special Education at Temple University. Ms. Mehl also studies and teaches tai chi, is an avid gardener and the proud mother of four grown children.
